“Chakkiligintha” is the latest Telugu film starring Sumanth Ashwin and Rehana in the lead roles that has been released on this Friday (December 5th). Lets see the performance of the film……
Story:
Aadi (Sumanth Ashwin) is a happy go lucky guy studies in MIT College, Hyderabad. He does not believe in the concept of boys going after girls. He also encourages his friends not to woo the girls and makes them to take a pledge that they will avoid girls at any cost and will not follow girls in proposing the love. However, this attitude of Aadi is disliked by all the girls in the college.
One fine day, Avanthika (Rehana) joins the college and finds out that the boys are totally neglecting all the girls. She then decides to change the whole scenario and challenges that she would make Aadi fall for her and break his own rules. So, she lays a trap for Aadi. How Avanthika plans to make Aadi fall in love with her ? Will Aadi falls into the trap of Avanthika ? Has Avanthika succeeded in her attempt ? All these forms the rest of the story that has to be watched on the screen itself.
Positives:-
* It is a romantic drama that is laced with decent amount of comedy.
* Hero Sumanth Ashwin character is a special attraction to this movie. Sumanth suits the character and he is very impressive.
* The lead pair did their best to make this romantic flick, a click.
* The entire film looks quite rich and mainly, the college atmosphere has been showcased in a good manner.
* The movie has good comedy quotient and succeeded in tickling the funny bones of the audience.
Negatives:
* The pace of the movie is dead slow in the first half.
* There is a lot of confusion with the characters, as they just go and come without a purpose.
* Heroine Rehana is another drawback for the movie. Even though she tried hard, she looked quite unconvincing in the film.
* The climax of the film looks very abrupt and silly, which does not justify the movie at all.
Technical Aspects:
* Even though, the Director Vema Reddy had a nice concept on his mind, he failed to develop that idea into a good film.
* The film is technically sound with colorful cinematography. Amazing picturization is the main highlights of the film.
* Editing could have been better as the film drags towards the interval and climax.
* The Production values are rich and grand.
* Few songs are good. “Baby My Lover” and “Edhi Varake” are sweet, both to ears and eyes. Background Score of the film is okay.
Telugumirchi Analysis:
The movie, which deals with a complicated subject, tries to explain the thin line between love and lust. There are certain elements that may appeal to the youth. Chakkiligintha has its moments, but falls flat on a whole. Boring narration, single line story and silly philosophies make the film as below average. In one word, it is a ‘disappointment’ film from a debutante director.
