Till now, Dialogue King Sai Kumar’s son Aadi has entertained the audience as a Lover Boy. But for the first time, he has acted in an out and out action entertainer titled ‘Rough’. He has tried to make a mark on mass audience with his latest movie. Amidst lot of expectations, the movie “Rough” has released today (28th November). Lets see to what extent Aadi has become successful in attracting the audience with his new avatar.
Story :
Chandu (Aadi) is an orphan, who helps his friends in trouble and teaches love lessons to goons.
He falls in Love with Nandini (Rakul Preet Singh) a college student at first sight and decides to marry her. Later on, he comes to know that Nandini is the only sister of millionaire Siddharth (Srihari). Instead of approaching Nandini to propose, Chandu directly meets Siddharth and reveals his desire of marrying his sister. A shocked and upset Siddharth tries to distance Chandu from Nandini, but she gets close to him. On the other hand, Nandini comes to know the flashback of Chandu, that he is a convict in murder case.
He falls in Love with Nandini (Rakul Preet Singh) a college student at first sight and decides to marry her. Later on, he comes to know that Nandini is the only sister of millionaire Siddharth (Srihari). Instead of approaching Nandini to propose, Chandu directly meets Siddharth and reveals his desire of marrying his sister. A shocked and upset Siddharth tries to distance Chandu from Nandini, but she gets close to him. On the other hand, Nandini comes to know the flashback of Chandu, that he is a convict in murder case.
What happens afterwards ? Will Nandini accept Chandhu’s love ? forms the rest of the story.
Positives :
* Aadi’s acting best suits the title of the movie ‘Rough’. His acting, looks and dialogue delivery are the main highlights in the movie.
* Rakul played the role of a rich lass and a complete girl-next-door in her attitude. She appeared cute and beautiful, and attracted the audience with her performance.
* The romance and sizzling chemistry between Aadi and Rakul is another highlight of the film.
* Srihari’s performance is yet another highlight of the film. He plays a perfect brother which will be attracted by every film goer.
* The movie portrayed a beautiful relationship between brother and sister.
* Some challenging scenes between Aadi and Srihari are awesome.
* Siva Reddy, Ajay, Suhasini, Kasi Viswanath and others justified their roles.
Negatives :
* The main negative aspect of the film is the predictable story line.
* Even though, the movie has an interesting story, the narration drags killing the interest of the viewers.
* Many comedians come and go in the film, which is just confusing.
* The first half has no story at all, except for a few routine comedy scenes.
* Even the second half has been stretched only increase the run time.
Technical Aspects :
* The Director Subba Reddy has given a new action look to Aadi, who earlier played the role of a chocolate hero. Even the script is written well with good punch dialogues. But, he has chosen a routine love story.
* Cinematographer Senthil has done a good job. Vibrant color themes, superb blocks and standard rule book shots are his wonders.
* Music by Mani Sharma is decent, but the background score is just an average.
* The Editor could have easily chopped off few unnecessary scenes to reduce the run time.
* Production values are good.
Analysis:-
One can watch “Rough” to see Aadi as a action hero and killer onscreen chemistry of Aadi and Rakul Preet. But, if one loves to see Rakul’s glamour, they are in the form of songs on Youtube. If one wants to listen to Aadhi’s dialogues, they are available as teasers. There is no point to rush to theatres to watch a boring drama that kills our time. On the whole, ‘Rough’ is an average mass entertainer
